Allegory
In abstract art, allegory implies the principle of complex creative thinking. The allegorical picture conceals direct information, which, in principle, makes it more mystical. In particular, I use symbolism in my work "Allegory", where I create a complex story in an implicit way, so that I give the viewer a possibility to contemplate and to form one's own view on the subject. This is the idea behind: the central character of the painting is a strong female figure which appears headless, and partially covered in deep black. The woman stands in the light, with one foot on the ground and with another one leaning against the wall. This lady symbolizes my country Georgia, which struggles against numerous obstacles ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The wall represents the Georgian millenia-old civilization, culture, religion, values, heritage, and traditions, which form the major pillars of our nation. The akimbo position of the left arm reflects her strength, self-belief, and wisdom. Georgia has always defended itself from myriads of aggressors and invaders, and Georgian heroes were sacrificing their lives to protect our homeland. It is still being torn apart, as the occupation and expropriation of Georgian territories continues. My country has been through many fires, but it is not destined to perish. It will rise and shine, despite all challenges! This is the main concept, the main message of this painting.
